I’ve got one thing to say about the three words that Barrack Obama stated over and over on November 4th, and that is, ”Yes, We Can,” in the context of the power of positive thinking. Nevermind about the economy, the state of world affairs, etc; these three simple words can be used to evoked the strong emotions within us as individuals; to help each of us, individually, be successful in life.
Yes!
Isn’t it interesting how by inserting the word “yes” in your communication, it automatically evokes a positive reaction? Take, for example, the two phrases below:
- Yes, we can be healthy.
- No, we can not be sick.
These two statements are basically saying the same positive thing but Feels very different. In the first statement, “Yes, we can…” we are taking a pro-active posture. While in the second, we are taking a defensive posture.
It feels like we’re taking a step backwards and shielding ourselves with our hands.
Let Us Not Delude Ourselves
At the same time, we should not delude ourselves. Positive language just for the sake of NOT being negative tends to reduce our passion. If you don’t believe your untruth, even if it sounds positive; it won’t motivate your subconscious mind to take action and your potential manifestations will stagnate.
On Eavesdropping
A day before the U.S. Election (November 3rd), I overheard a conversation at a store about the economy. One, appeared to be the manager or the owner of the store, and the other, appeared to be a friend of the manager. The manager was telling his friend that he would likely be out of a job next year due to sparse sales from the poor economy.
The friend then jest that he should think of it in a positive way and say, instead, that he would be taking a long vacation instead of losing his job. While this statement was intended to be positive, this was obviously very untrue and, judging from the manager’s facial response; served no positive purpose at all.
Whether in jest or not, by thinking or verbalizing what you believe to be an untruth, you are basically lying to yourself. Do it enough times and your lie will also become your reality.
We talk a lot about the power of positive thinking in Mind Visualization but there is no power that comes from even positive language that is not in truth. Untruths, will only serve to de-sensitize and de-motivate you. You will compromise the passion and emotion that you need to achieve your manifestation goals.
It is well-established that there is a direct relationship to positive attitude and successful life achievements (relationship, job, health, etc.) However, you don’t have to be positive, just so as NOT to be negative.
When you think about it, the phrase “Yes, We Can,” is not positive or a negative statement in and of itself, it is just a statement. There are no words of emotion in it. Yet, it has a tendency to evoke a strong a positive emotion.
It is easier and more accurate to Feel and visualize the emotion than to verbalize or put it down in words and, in most cases, more powerful.
So, what I’m trying to say is:
Write out your goals as clearly and as matter-of-fact as possible, but Visualize them with passion and Feel them with emotion.
We can use this idea in the same way in our vision boards, affirmation statements, goals and even in our speech. At first, it may be difficult to implement but the more we practice and integrate this concept into our daily thoughts; the more it will begin to naturally permeate into your unconscious mind and automatically reflect in your actions and subsequently, your successful manifestations.
As citizens of the world, it is the responsibility for each of us to be the best that we can be using the power of positive thinking. Let us take responsibility for our part of the Morphogenetic Field (watch the video).
If each one sweeps before his own door, the whole street is clean. – Old Yiddish proverb
Our stories are singular but our destiny is shared. – Barrack Obama
