Here’s an example of a personal experience where I was able to use dream interpretation to control my mind in my sleep; to turn a nightmare into a dream. This is my semi-recurring dream that I had three times through the course of approximately three years. I say “semi-recurring” because they all ended differently.
To give you a little background on the dream, the part of the tornado is played by my then, 5-year old nephew who was; let’s be honest, he was a terror.
The First Nightmare
Not surprisingly, in my nightmare, he appears as the small tornado, whipping around and causing havoc wherever he went. He stops in front of me wearing a magician’s suit and looked at me with taunting eyes. He then whips himself up into a tornado again and moves out of my sight.
Still in dream-state, I knew that he would return and became so scared that I couldn’t move. I stayed stiff until I woke myself up.
First Realization: I woke up realizing that it was a just a dream and that I needed to be able to not freeze up anytime I felt there was danger. I would have to be able to think on my feet, so to speak. I challenged myself to have the dream again. And, I did.
The Second Try
Once again, my nephew appeared as a tornado and stopped in front of me. But this time, I managed to be a little braver and, instead of freezing up, I ran and took refuge in the broom closet. Then, I woke up.
Second Realization: First, I was able to control my actions in my dream. However, I wasn’t happy with how I dealt with it by hiding in the closet. So, I decided that I needed to take more appropriate action and forced myself to dream the nightmare again.
The Last Time
It was the same nightmare initially but this time, I stood tall and told the tornado, in no uncertain terms that what he was doing was unacceptable and he should stop at once. (I finally became and adult, the aunt.) Immediately, my nephew stopped spinning and took on his human form.
He looked pleased with himself and gave me a hug, then skipped off to play. I woke up.
Third Realization: That by confronting my fears, I was able not only to control the outcome of my dreams but I was able to answer issues that I had with my nephew in my awake-state. Since then, my nephew and I have had the best relationship ever. Even what I had once thought of as “chaotic behavior” does not appear chaotic anymore.
This is an example of one of my dreams that, as you can see, I believed was a nightmare at first, until I used simple dream interpretation technique and mind control to correctly interpret the dream and work out the issues concerning my nephew.
