Remote Viewing for Lost and Found

September 1st, 2008 · 6 Comments

Remote viewing is basically a type of mind control method used to view something (object, place, event, etc.) that is out of your normal field of vision. Hence the term “remote.” You are travelling with your mind’s eye to view a glimpse of a place beyond your normal eyesight.

The term “remote viewing” is often mistaken as “remote sensing.” Since there are some basic similarities, at times, you will see that the terms are used interchangeably.

Please note that: In this article, the term “remote viewing” will only be used in the context of the psychic, paranormal or ESP. The term “remote sensing” will be used in reference to remote sensing devices such as satellites, weather buoys and space probes or medical imaging devices, for example, that obtain information and data remotely.

Interestingly, Both the highly esteemed Stanford Reseach Institute and the CIA (yes, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency) have even performed extensive studies on the validity of the remote viewing technique in the past. The studies were recorded in the 70’s and 80’s.

Still, some pooh-pooh remote viewing as just airy-fairy; while others consider it something out of the secret society movement that should be considered taboo. While in actuality, most of us use it freely in our day-to-day lives.

Here is a simple, yet useful, way that I often use remote viewing. You might want to give it a try.

Locate Your Keys

Locate Your Keys

This technique is handy when you’ve lost something, in this case, your house keys.

  • Visualize your (item) key.
  • Slowly pull back on the vision to encompass the surroundings that your (item) key is in.
  • Determine where that location is and go get it.

The Lost Wallet

This actually happened to me. It was on of those times that I lost (or rather “misplaced”) my wallet. I did use the technique as outlined above but I did not follow through on the last step as you will see.

Step 1: Visualize your wallet.
I imagined the wallet, the color (it was black), texture and every detail I could think of, just as I was actually looking at it.

Step 2: Slowly, in your mind’s eye, pull away from the vision to encompass the surroundings of your wallet.
I saw that the surroundings of the wallet were pitch black.  I surmised that the wallet had fallen around my car seat.

Step 3: Go get it.
I looked and looked around the car seats and couldn’t find it.

Lost Wallet

I decided that it was time to notify the police in the off chance that it was stolen. I explained to the police that I could not find my wallet and had to cancel all of my credit cards just in case it was stolen.

After I filed my report, I implemented the simple procedure that I outlined above, once again, and saw the same thing. At this point, I began over-analyzing my images in my mind and searched everything else but the area near the car seats. So, of course it wasn’t working and I gave up.

The next day, I felt the need to grope around, between the car seats; for no apparent reason except that I really wanted to believe that my technique worked.

You guessed it. There it was, my black wallet, wedged between the black carpet of my car seat. It was there all along but I did not see it, initially, since it was the same color as the carpeting in my car.

Unfortunately, I had already cancelled my credit cards.

This was years ago and I have had to used this technique many times for a variety of lost items. Fortunately, I have always been able to locate them. Those that I have told this to, has also been able to locate their misplaced items.

Hi there, I have been looking for my diary for over a week now. I really needed some of the numbers etc in it and was desperate to find it. Having looked everywhere, and I do mean everywhere in the house I thought back to remote viewing as I had tried it once purely as an exercise after reading about it. Although my results were startlingly accurate at the time I just put it down to being a fluke.

So anyway, I visualised my black diary, as you kindly explained how to do, then ‘zoomed out’ of the image. I drew sketched and came up with a tiger. Weird, I thought. So, I went around the house looking for anything tiger related. Nothing.

I went back and repeated the process and again, from the ’scribbles’ I got another tiger face, a cute cuddly tiger. This time I also saw some leaves (very specific five-pronges leaves) and a box.

Feeling a bit stumped I looked around and noticed that in the garden the leaves on my Acer tree were the same as the ones I visualised. I went out into the garden, past the tree and in to the garage. No there is a lot of stuff in my garage, some to be sorted, some to go to charity shops etc, etc. There on the shelf was a plastic box with tools in it that was cleared out of the house over a week ago. There in the box was my diary! My husband must have inadvertantly taken it out to the garage with the tools.

What was leaning against the box?

A furry toy tiger, of course.

I thought I would share as this just blew me away. Thanks so much.

Lucy, I just read your post. One of the original reasons why I created this site was in the hopes of creating a space to swap/share manifestation stories just like this one you shared with us. Your story reminded me of an article that I’ve been meaning to write about but had almost forgotten. You’ve already started the wheels in my head in motion and I expect the article about remote viewing to be posted within one to two weeks. So thanks for reminding me!

One thing that I wanted to point out and compliment you about is that you did not ignore the first image you had of the tiger as many people would have done, especially when their initial search did not produce results or they think it’s “weird.”

Please also know that I am especially grateful for your share!

Thanks again, and thanks for the follow up post. I have happily shared this experience with other people, and guess what? They don’t believe me! – What a surprise. THe thing is I don’t feel at all compelled to preach to them that it really did happen and really was true, I just know that it did and that there is some real substance to remote viewing.

    Thanks again

Oh, how I resonate with exactly what you’re saying. Often, the people closest to you are the most difficult to convince :-) But they will, eventually. It may just take another source to tell them the same thing, for them to be convinced. I believe that deep down, we all know these things to be true…presented in a different way, using different words but it is not anything new. In the case of “remote viewing”…what if we change the word to “intuition” for example? :-)

Wow, thanks a lot! I recently lost my Scout Book which I really need, and soon. So, I followed your excellently written guide and visualized the book in my mind. I kept it there for a while, then slowly zoomed out of the scene. After a few minutes, I saw a new image, of a wooden plank. My book was laying under it. I looked around my house for wooden items and as it turns out, it was in one of my desk drawers! Again, thanks a lot, I’ll be sure to use this plenty in the future.

Thanks for the feedback Ian. I’m glad you found your Scout book. It’s such a simple visualization concept, I wish more people would try it. It definitely helps when people like you, share their experiences.
