Musashi’s Mind Control Technique Was Life Saver

August 27th, 2008 · 4 Comments

By influencing the actions of others, you may be an unconscious master of mind control. Most of us are unconscious of this ability we already have. Strengthening your own mind with the right mind control technique can bring this unconscious ability to conscious reality.

Musashi’s Tricks

Swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, was said to have perfected his mind control tricks through his training to become one of two top Japanese swordsman of his time. For Musashi, this ability saved his life at the famous Duel at Ganryu Island against the only other great swordsman, Sasaki Kojiro.

Musashi was a master manipulator in his own right. He used a number of mind control techniques to manipulate the emotions of Kojiro that enabled Musashi to ultimately defeating Kojiro in battle.

Understand that Sasaki Kojiro was no snooze, himself, when it came to swordsmanship. He had earned the right to be known as the greatest swordsman of his time. That is, of course, until Musashi arrived at the scene.

Kojiro developed a cutting style which was said to be so swift that it could cut a swallow in mid-flight. Hence, the name of the technique, “The Swallow Cut.”

The reason this needs to be mentioned is that it is in sharp (forgive the pun) contrast to Musashi’s wooden sword that he used against Kojiro’s metal sword at the Duel at Ganryu Island.

This visualization, in itself could have been enough to disarm Kojiro and lose his momentum. Can you imagine Kojiro, who upon achieving top status as a great swordsman, to be met in battle by an unknown swordsman with a wooden stick. It is said that this slap to Kojiro’s face was just one of the ways Musashi attempted to throw Kojiro off guard.

He Was Three Hours Late

There is one mind control technique, Musashi used in this battle that sticks in my mind. It happened when Miyamoto Musashi stepped onto the shores of Ganryu Island and met Sasaki Kojiro, three hours late.

As they faced each other, Kojiro prepared to fight Musashi by releasing his two sword from its protective scabbard (the sheath used for holding and protecting the blade of the sword). Kojiro then dropped the scabbard to the ground.

The First and Final Cut

Musashi, the great master manipulator that he was, smiled and said, “So, Sasaki Kojiro, I see that you already concede that you’ve lost this battle?”

This comment, along with Musashi’s tardiness, infuriated Kojiro, but being the master swordsman that he was, concealed his emotions and with a stoic expression responded, “What do you mean. You will be the one defeated.”

Musashi, once again, smiled and said, “Obviously, if you really believed that you would win this battle, you would not have thrown your scabbard away. If you thought you would win this battle, you would not have discarded your scabbard so you’d have a place to replace your bloody sword once you have killed me.”

Musashi’s comment, most likely, had the greatest impact on influencing the outcome at the Ganryu Island as it would not have been easy for Kojiro to forget such a comment, deeply laced in truth.

But the real truth of the matter is that neither Musashi, nor you, could technically perform these mind control techniques on Kojiro or any other person, for that matter, unless the other person allowed it. If Kojiro did not react emotionally to Musashi’s mind control tricks, Sasaki Kojiro may have been the one who emerged victorious from the Duel at Ganryu Island.
