You don’t really need to have a very big space for your herbs garden. A small plot at the back of your home is enough for your herbs garden.
On the other hand, if you live in an apartment building and you do not have access to a garden plot, you can always grow some herbs on pots. Having an indoor herbs garden can be a lot of fun.
Of course there is some research you need to do prior to starting your garden. You need to know what types of herbs are suitable in your area. Note that climate and space affects the growth of your herbs.
Find out more about the different types of herbs from herb gardening books. There are plenty of books about herbs gardening in the library or on-line. Online research saves a lot of time so you can get started with your herbs gardening project almost right away but sometimes having gardening books on the coffee table can serve to bring part of the garden indoors also.

If you live in an apartment, you can start looking for pots. You may also look into getting some racks where you can stack your pots. Keep in mind that decorative pots and racks will also make your place look better. Aesthetics is an essential part of healing garden therapy.
Remember that you have limited space in your apartment so do not crowd your place with big plants. You also need to choose herbs that are easy to grow and take care of.
Gauge your time. If you are a very busy person, you may not really have much time to take care of your plants so you need plants that require minimal attention. You may also choose to start with seedlings or full-grown plants instead of starting them from seed.
