Pre-Halloween Ramblings

Remember the television show, Beauty and the Beast, starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton, The Beast (Ron) uses Halloween as the only time when he can walk among the populace and have the freedom to express himself as he truly is.

Halloween is a time when you can see plenty of masks, costumes and makeup. It is a time when you can pretend to be someone else. And for some people, a time to express the other side(s) of your personality that you have tried to keep under wraps for the rest of the year.

Masks come in many different forms for many different uses. Perhaps one of the most well known masks is associated with the theatre. In Phantom of the Opera, the Phantom covers up his face because he is disfigured.

Most of us, in one way or another, put up mental masks all year long. Some call it “walls.” These walls hide the part of themselves that they may not want other people to see.

When it comes to visualization and manifestation, if the mental masks that you wear become so real that you start believing in them, you will find that your visions become skewed and your manifestations will logically follow suit.

This is not necessarily negative, it can be a positive thing. In the context of hypnosis, you visualize your goal. It may not be the situation now but you put on a “mask” of something that you want for the future.

For example: You may want to have freedom from debt and see yourself in your new duds (costume) driving your new Ferrari, or what have you.

The clearer you visualize it, the more real your goal becomes in your mind and you will manifest what you envision as you envision it. Just make sure that your “mask” accurately represents your vision.

Having said that, wearing a mask and costumes for Halloween definitely does add some fun visuals to the night. May your Halloween bring out the neotenous best in you.
